VirtualBox shared folders on Windows 7
Windows 7 networking navigation just like Vista sucks big time. If you are wondering how to see a folder shared from VirtualBox, then the answer is you can’t do it directly like in XP going to Virtual Box Shared folders, because that thing does not exist. I’ve found out that you need to navigate to the shared folder by entering in the address bar
\\vboxsvr\<share>
Where <share> is the name you have used when sharing the folder within VirtualBox.

I’m confused why cann’t you just make the virtual connection a private on in the network sharing centre then navigate to it through the Network option on My Computer.
Additionally its not windows sucking its Virtualbox not keeping up
You must be using an older version of VirtualBox.
I’ve installed win7 today on virtualbox 3.1.2 on an ubuntu 9.10 host and networking works better than ever.
I’ve never been able to browse for the shares before, you can now.
When mapping the drive just browse and you will see it, you no longer have to type in the path.
